Concessions International (CI) announced that it will open a Chick-fil-A at the Denver International Airport in mid-2016. The new location is a joint venture between CI and Delarosa Restaurant Concepts, an ACDBE (airport concessions disadvantaged business enterprise) partner. Delarosa Restaurant Concepts is owned by Michael De La Rosa, a local Colorado entrepreneur and restaurant operator. This will also be the first time that CI has partnered with Delarosa Restaurant Concepts.

The Chick-fil-A will be located in the center food court in Concourse B, a major United Airlines hub at the airport. The restaurant will feature a limited Chick-fil-A menu, including its Original Chicken Sandwich, Waffle Potato Fries, Chicken Nuggets, and Grilled Chicken Sandwich. Chick-fil-A also offers breakfast items such as its signature Chicken Biscuit, Thrive Farmer’s Coffee, and more. Other menu highlights include chicken salads, wraps, and chicken nuggets and fingers. Chick-fil-A also offers breakfast items such as chicken and egg biscuits, breakfast burritos, breakfast platters, oatmeal, and yogurt.

“The Chick-fil-A menu is beloved by consumers across the country and will be a great addition to the Denver airport,” says Donata Russell Ross, CI’s CEO. “We have wanted to add Chick-fil-A to our portfolio for years, and the Denver International Airport is a great place to start.” There are currently 30 Chick-fil-A restaurants in the Denver area.

The CI and Chick-fil-A partnership is a longtime coming.  The founders of both companies, Herman Russell of Concessions International and Truett Cathy of Chick-fil-A, were friends, business associates, and respected leaders in the Atlanta community. “The opening in Denver continues a business relationship that began decades ago and fosters a spirit of friendship and partnership across two great Atlanta companies,” Ross says.

Concessions International operates nine other restaurant locations at Denver International Airport (DIA), including Panda Express, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, New Belgium Hub Bar & Grill, Heidi’s Brooklyn Deli, and Wetzel’s Pretzels.  The company has operated at DIA since 1995 and is a long-term tenant.

Chick-fil-A has more than 1,900 restaurants in the U.S., including in 14 airports.
