Scottsdale’s much-anticipated, quick-serve poke restaurant, Ahipoki Bowl, announced an April 1 opening date. The restaurant is located at 2805 N. Scottsdale Rd. on the southeast corners of Thomas and Scottsdale Roads.

Ahipoki Bowl’s Hawaiian-based specialty dish, poke, consists of diced sushi grade fish like ahi tuna and salmon on a bed of rice or salad. Other garnishes and exotic toppings include daikon, masago, and a variety of sauces for flavor. The restaurant is fashioned as a quick serve, allowing guests to choose the size of their bowl and all of their toppings and ingredients served right before their eyes.

Ahipoki Bowl follows the same concept as the original location in Temple City, California. After the poke craze began in California and swept across the state and after its massive success in the Temple City and Pasadena area, the Ahipoki Bowl restaurant group partnered with local Arizona businessmen to expand their locations. Michael Zimmerman, owner of Republic West Home and Jason Jantzen, owner of Phoenix Marketing Associates, have plans to open at least six to seven restaurants in the Phoenix metro area and 10 to 15 statewide.

The restaurant will offer first responders and military personnel a 20 percent off discount every day with valid identification and 10 percent off for seniors 55 and older.

Ahipoki Bowl is set to celebrate its grand opening on April 23 with 50 percent off bowls and other grand opening events to be announced.
