The Krystal Company, the brand famous for its iconic square hamburgers, has delighted guests throughout the Southeast for more than 80 years. Since 1932, Krystal has built its legacy on great tasting food at great value; now, it enters a year of rejuvenating the look and feel of the restaurants that serve that great food, one market at a time.

“Our guests want a fun, new experience when dining with us,” says Brian Blosser, the vice president of construction and development at the Krystal Company. “They want the same great taste that they have come to expect from our brand, with a refreshed look that is both inviting and contemporary.”

During the annual Krystal convention held earlier this month in Birmingham, Alabama, Blosser spoke about the brand’s initiative to reinvest in the system, emphasizing the focus on refreshing and remodeling the system, one market at a time. Augusta, Georgia, was selected as the first market to experience a market-wide remodeling of current restaurants.

“This is a monumental milestone for our brand because it is the first market in which we completely remodeled all of our restaurants,” Blosser says. “We are extremely optimistic that the Augusta market will experience similar success to previous remodels within the Krystal system.”

With eight of the nine remodeled restaurants within the market completed, Krystal has already experienced dramatic lifts in store sales at the refreshed restaurants. This success is reminiscent of past remodeled restaurants within the system, fueling the brand’s vision for the future. The remodeled restaurants feature a vibrant color package, LED lighting, enhanced digital menuboard, and artwork that is modern but maintains the brand’s heritage.

“Careful consideration was given when selecting the perfect market to remodel,” Blosser says. “With the help of franchisee Jefferson Murray and the tireless work of the Krystal team, Augusta was a natural choice for the Krystal brand’s refreshing initiative and we are proud of the results.”
