Jimboy’s Tacos, the fast-casual, American-style Mexican food chain announced it raised more than $11,000 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) during its annual fundraiser over the holidays. The monies will benefit children with muscle disease and send them to MDA camp over the summer.
Each year, Jimboy's Tacos teams up with the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) for a fundraiser during the holidays by selling mobiles from each of their 40 restaurants, for $1 or $5 each. Jimboy’s Tacos have donated nearly $30,000 over the past three years to send kids to MDA’s summer camp.
“It’s heartwarming to know our Jimboy’s Tacos guests’ donations send kids to MDA summer camp,” says Karen Knudson-Freeman, president and CEO of Jimboy's Tacos, as well as the founder's daughter. “We appreciate our guests, as these kids look forward to summer camp year-round, making raising funds so meaningful.”
For 60 years, thousands of children and teens living with neuromuscular diseases have attended MDA summer camp. There, each has found a safe, nurturing world created specifically for them and filled with opportunities to explore awesome adventures, new experiences, lifelong friendships, and endless fun. MDA's summer camp program provides thousands of kids with muscle disease a life-changing experience at one of 80 week-long summer camps.

Jimboy’s Tacos is a family run fresh casual restaurant chain founded by Jim Knudson in Northern California 62 years ago. In 1969, Jim began franchising and the Jimboy’s Tacos phenomenon grew from a small trailer on the shores of Lake Tahoe’s Kings Beach, into more than 40 locations in California, Nevada, and Texas.
