Corner Bakery Café Expands in Florida, New Jersey

Corner Bakery Cafe has signed an agreement with Yum & Chill Restaurant Group to bring 30 locations to Florida and New Jersey over the next five to seven years. Plans call for 20 cafes in New Jersey and 10 cafes in the Tampa/St. Petersburg market.

The new restaurants will help boost the local economy in those states by adding more than 1,200 jobs locally.

Growth will be focused in Northern and Central New Jersey, as well as Pinellas and Hillsborough Counties in Florida.

Einstein Bros. Opens Location in Loveland, Colorado

Einstein Noah Restaurant Group, Inc. will celebrate the grand opening of its newest Einstein Bros. Bagels location at 104 E. 29^th St. in Loveland, Colorado, with a week of giveaways, beginning when the restaurant opens its doors on Tuesday, May 1, 2012.

To celebrate the grand opening, Einstein Bros. Bagels will give the first 100 customers free regular drip coffee for a month. This coffee giveaway will take place every day for seven days from May 1-8, 2012. In addition to free coffee, Einstein Bros. will be giving away free food and other prizes throughout the week.

Dunkin' Brands Enjoys 10.9% Same-Store Sales Hike in Q1

Vigorous gains in beverage sales, combined with “very strong breakfast sales” and limited-time promotions, collectively contributed to a 10.9 percent hike in system-wide sales for Dunkin’ Brands in the first quarter, said Nigel Travis, CEO of Dunkin’ Brands.

Speaking to investors during the company’s first-quarter earnings call on April 26, Travis said Dunkin’ Donuts U.S. business reported a 7.2 percent uptick in comparable same-store sales.

Entrepreneur Phil Rice in Charlotte, North Carolina, opens the doors of his newest Einstein Bros. Bagels (located at 13736 Conlan Circle in Charlotte) on April 17 at 5:30 a.m., presenting the first 100 guests in line with a free breakfast.

“I can’t think of a better way to showcase the freshness and quality of our breakfast sandwiches to the local community,” Rice says. “I am excited to offer a restaurant that will impress new and longtime Einstein Bros. Bagels fans with fresh menu options and a vibrant dining atmosphere.”

Einstein Bros. TN Store is First to Serve Dinner

Local husband and wife team Jon and Yvonne Kidder opened the newest Einstein Bros. Bagels location at 11693 Parkside Drive in Farragut, Tennessee, on April 3, 2012.

This opening marks the second Einstein Bros. Bagels that the Kidders own and operate in the Knoxville area and the first Einstein Bros. to serve dinner.

The Kidder’s expansion plans include opening three additional restaurants throughout the Knoxville, London, and Anderson counties in the coming years.
